I only coach clients after I evaluate their riding position. On average, the optimum positioning will improve the rider’s efficiency by 30 watts. This is typically a 10% performance increase. In many cases, the improvement in efficiency is much greater.
Following a training program developed by an experienced and knowledgeable coach is likely the single most effective way to improving fitness and race results! I develop individualized training programs for mountain bike racers, road racers, and sport recreation riders. I can help all athletes from the beginner to professional athlete. My coaching philosophy is that every client is different. Since everyone has different training and coaching needs, I only devise weekly training protocols. Sure, I can crank out monthly programs for a lesser fee. However, it's not realistic to develop extensively long training programs. There are too many variables that will impact your training (weather, illness, family, work, injury, vacation, etc.). Although specific exercise and training principles apply to everyone, each principle applies differently to us all. Many variables impact each client depending on his or her unique life circumstances as well as physiological and mental strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, I only develop weekly training programs for my clients.
