I sent out the following message to the members of the local tri club and I am opening up this clinic to others as well...
I have been approached by a few folks wanting help with basic but important mechanical issues they are concerned with during their upcoming big race. Firstly, I will cover how to deal with a flat tire... not the bull sh&t flat tire class you see in a club meeting, but how to deal with the situation step by step... from before you get off the bike to getting back on the bike during a race. Not only fixing or changing your tube, but fixing a slash in your tire. The second issue is a broken spoke. With aero forks and hidden brakes this is a concern. One pro racer at KONA DNF'D because his wheel was rubbing his brakes (2013). The third issue is a preventative maintenance check... checking, cables, chain, gears, etc. In 2012 a pro racer DNF'd Kone because his derailleur cable broke. I am hosting this clinic this Monday evening Aug 11 at 6PM at my studio. Please contact me if you are interested.
